NotHole help and information
Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers about NotHole, reported road hazards, teams, privacy and account management.
What is NotHole?
NotHole is a road-awareness app that helps users save and share the locations of potholes, damaged roads, flooding, low bridges, slippery conditions and other road hazards.
How does NotHole work?
Users can record hazard locations and share them with other people. NotHole can then provide awareness of saved or shared hazards when they are relevant to a journey.
Visit the How It Works page for a more detailed explanation.
What kinds of road hazards can I save?
Examples include potholes, damaged road surfaces, flooding, slippery conditions, low bridges and other locations that may present a risk to drivers or vehicles.
Does NotHole guarantee that every hazard will be reported?
No. NotHole provides additional road awareness using locations saved and shared by its users. Reports may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate or no longer current.
Drivers must continue to observe road signs, weather warnings, official directions and the conditions immediately around them.
Can I use NotHole while driving?
Never hold or operate your phone while driving. Configure NotHole before beginning your journey and follow all applicable road rules concerning mobile devices.
If information needs to be entered or changed, stop somewhere safe before using the app.
What are NotHole Teams?
NotHole Teams allow families, friends, colleagues, employees and other groups to share useful hazard locations within their network and help one another maintain better road awareness.
Can businesses use NotHole?
Yes. NotHole may be useful for businesses whose employees travel regularly or operate vehicles. Teams can help an organisation share known road hazards with relevant staff.
NotHole supplements an organisation’s existing safety procedures; it does not replace risk assessments, official warnings, driver training or workplace safety obligations.
Can NotHole document an incident?
NotHole can help users record relevant information about an incident so it can be retained or shared with appropriate parties when required.
Only collect information when it is safe and lawful to do so, and do not enter private or sensitive information unnecessarily.
Is NotHole an emergency or navigation service?
No. NotHole is a road-awareness tool. It is not an emergency service and should not be relied upon as your only navigation, hazard-warning or safety system.
In an emergency, contact the appropriate emergency service. In Australia, call Triple Zero (000).
How is my information handled?
